Prescriptions Information

Requesting Online

You are able to request your repeat prescription via our online services; SystmOnline.

Why does it take 3 FULL WORKING DAYS to process a repeat prescription request?

At Gordon House Surgery prescriptions are requested every day.

Our practice pharmacist and clinical teams check your medical records to ensure that your medication request is on your repeat prescription. This is to improve the safety of repeat prescribing, and gives us time to follow up with patients who need additional monitoring: bloods and reviews.

The process:

Your requests go to our practice Pharmacist for checking (bloods, last review, contraindications, medication changes, recent test results etc.)
Next to the Pharmacy team or Doctor to authorise and ensure that it is still appropriate for you.
Once authorised, its sent electronically to your nominated pharmacy or printed and our reception team will file your prescription ready for collection.

Delays may occur if any medication requested is not on your repeat prescription list or if your medication request differs from what is on your list. Your doctor may also request that you make an appointment to have your medication reviewed.

Remember: medication reviews are due every 6 months, please book in a review with our clinical pharmacist on time to prevent delays in medication authorisation.
